On December 10th at the United Nations, we took the first step of a new chapter in the history of US Hispanics. Leaders came from all over the country and from many different industries. The enthusiasm blew us away, including the crew of the United Nations who for the first time had a shortage of food in an event… Now that’s sold out!

We came together as Hispanic leaders and companies that care to do one thing: define our shared agenda so that we can unify as a Hispanic community. A VISION 2020.

Attendees voted and decided on our priorities. We will follow up. We are committed to keeping the ball rolling and creating next steps on what was discussed during the Summit. We will create committees, working groups and take action.

There were three main issues that emerged from the voting as the key for the Hispanic leaders:

a)      Education

b)      Financial empowerment

c)      Perception/image

When it comes to perception, I am sure that we can decrease the 77% of the Hispanic population who are unaware of our own contributions, if we act together. Below are some immediate ways to get involved:

Relive the inaugural event

Watch the day’s full programming here. Additionally, take a look at some great photos from both the Summit and the reception at ATLA that followed.

2018 Hispanic Leadership Summit Report

Thanks to the Summit Rapporteurs, there will be a report of the discussions, data collection, and outcomes for the 2018 Hispanic Leadership Summit in mid January. We will be distilling the voting results from the Summit.

2019 Hispanic Leadership Summit

Please save the date for next year’s Summit on December 9, 2019.  This Summit will be a full day with a reception.

10×10 Campaign: #WeAreAllHumanAmbassador

There is one action that we can all start taking – it is time for Hispanics to talk to Hispanics about the power and beauty of Hispanics. We are launching the 10×10 campaign to make sure as many Hispanics as possible can know at least 10 basic facts that provide a sense of our strength. Click here to access a quick toolkit that you then commit to sharing with 10 other Hispanics, encouraging them to continue the wave to 10 more. Use your voice. Be a #WeAreAllHumanAmbassador for our community. Additionally, we want to celebrate HACE’s activation already of their 64,000 members. The facts have been gathered by the amazing Latino Donor Collaborative.

Hispanics in Davos

At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in January, in partnership with Microsoft, we will be holding a reception to enlighten global players about the power of our community.  Please save the date for Thursday, January 24th from 5:00-6:30PM GMT+1 at the Microsoft Cafe and register your information here.

Regional Events

Throughout 2019, we will be hosting regional events with local activations around the US taking the Vision 2020 and discussing it through different angles. These regional events will be announced in the coming weeks.  These local discussions will help inform the focus of the 2019 national summit. We are looking for sponsors, speakers, and venue hosts. If you are interested, please contact us at [email protected] with ‘Regional Events’ in the subject.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to reach out and improve the perception and representation of Hispanics nationwide. Make sure you celebrate it.  From September 15 to October 15, mark your calendar! Insist that your company gets involved. We want to join forces with the groups that have championed HHM to date and amplify these efforts starting in 2019.  Let’s use the occasion to unify under one theme: the unification of the Hispanic community.  We are looking for organizations and companies interested in aligning on this effort to create a working group. Please email [email protected] with ‘HHM’ in the subject if you are interested in being involved.

‘Voices’ Blog

We witnessed the inspiring words of numerous individuals, companies and organizations last week, but we know there are countless actions, stories and recommendations for how we can propel the Hispanic community forward and create a more inclusive world for all. We invite you to be a contributor for We Are All Human’s Voices blog. Share your experiences or about role models of the Hispanic community, past or present, that have inspired you. Learn more here.
